Bagnoli di Sopra lub Bagnoli
Existing since 1995 year, the Bagnoli di Sopra DOC appellation covers the area 15 municipalities in the province of Padua (Veneto). Bagnoli di Sopra, founded by the Lombards, is located in the heart of this region, which, grew around the convent of Saint Michael the Archangel built in 954 years in place, where there used to be nothing but vast swamps.
The history of the monastery and its monks is closely related to the development of wine traditions in Bagnoli di Sopra. For centuries, the wine produced here was known only in neighboring towns, and his fame never went beyond the local market.
This situation changed with the establishment of the DOC appeal for this wine. This enabled him to compete with other wines from the Veneto region and successfully enter both the domestic market, and internationally.
One of the most interesting wines belonging to this appellation is Friularo - full of flavor, red wine made from the indigenous Raboso grape grown in the alluvial areas of the Piave basin. This round and mature wine tastes best after two years of aging. In the process of producing wine in the "Vendemmia Tardiva” (from late harvest), harvesting begins at the moment, when the fruit is already beginning to wilt on the bush.
