Bramaterra
BRAMATERRA (DOC)
This rare wine is produced in only a few municipalities, surrounding Villa del Bosco in the province of Vercelli. The production area is known locally as "Bramaterra". The wine is the result of an extremely interesting combination of the Nebbiolo grape, which – due to the nature of the soil – there he found ideal conditions for himself and two other varieties, classic for that area – Bonarda Novarese i Vespolina.
Bramaterra wine is made by humans, who inherited the passion for wine production from their ancestors, becoming real specialists in their profession.
One of these small wine producers even became the hero of a local story. This man – older, short, with a rather annoying behavior – he made the best wine around, which all his colleagues admitted. However, he did not want to sell his unique drink and not everyone was allowed to taste it. As a result of this "obsession" his face all year round – or at least as long as he had enough wine – was reddened and full of satisfaction, while on the faces of other manufacturers at the same time there was a huge jealousy.
Bramaterra is one of the pearls of this area, the creation of which was paid for by the great sacrifice of producers. It is tasty, velvety and pleasantly bitter wine, but due to the limited area under vines has never been characterized by high production.
