Perfect Christmas compote
25 a dag of dried plums, 25 a dag of dried figs, 2 heaped spoons of sugar, a piece of cinnamon, zest and juice of a small lemon
Wash the plums and figs thoroughly (personally) in lukewarm water and rinse in cold. Pour boiled cold water over them anyway, so that the fruit is covered. Soak 4 time. Boil the plums 10 min. in the water, in which they soaked, adding a heaping spoon of sugar and a piece of cinnamon. Also boil the figs in water, in which they soaked, also with a heaping spoon of sugar, but with the addition of lemon peel (previously scrubbed) and lemon juice. After cooking, combine both compotes and serve not too chilled.
