Halibut (Hippoglossus)

Halibut (Hippoglossus)

Halibut, also called a saddle, is a fish belonging to the genus flounder. It lives at the bottom of the northern seas, reaching sometimes enormous proportions: length up to 2 meters and appropriate weight. Black halibut is much smaller and is caught in the Greenland area, Iceland and Spitsbergen.

It is a real pearl in the assortment of sea fish sold in our company, for it has white flesh, delicate and with an exquisite aroma, rich in mineral salts and vitamins and easily digestible. Despite these huge advantages – it's cheap. A huge number of fish dishes can be prepared with halibut, from the modest ones, ending with the most exquisite. Therefore, it is a fish that is sought after and highly valued on the world fish market. Our fish industry appreciates this by offering halibut in various forms: fresh, frozen fillets, breaded cubes (frozen) and smoked.
