Jam

Jam

The oldest Polish mention of preserves comes from the Middle Ages and speaks of apples fried in honey.

Today we call jam fruit fried in a very thick sugar syrup, the fruit should keep its shape, color and (partly) taste and aroma. Jam are very high-calorie sweets. After a year, they usually sugar, losing a lot of taste and aroma, which overwhelms the soulless sweetness of sugar. We fry jams rarely today. However, they are essential for Easter translators, to decorate mazurkas and cakes. Anyway, a few jars of your favorite preserves on the shelf create a management mood, without ruining your pockets. In winter, a tablespoon of cherry preserves, served on a saucer with fragrant and hot tea, can sometimes effectively sweeten the melancholy of a winter evening.
