Gherkins belong to a fairly large group of vegetables preserved in a strong vinegar marinade. Only gherkins spiced in the Russian way are stored in salted water. Tiny green cucumbers are chosen for the gherkins (a special gherkin variety). Vinegar decay, depending on your taste or recipe, flavored with pieces of bay leaf, pieces of horseradish, pods of paprika, small bulbs, black currant leaves, cloves, etc.. In recent years, cheap and tasty gherkins of domestic production have appeared on sale.
