Spicy cake
Pie: 25 a dag of flour, 50 dag sugar powder, 4 LOL, 10 a dag of almonds, 1 orange, a teaspoon of baking powder, half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, a pinch of ground cloves: a couple of tablespoons of fried orange peel
Icing: 20 dag sugar powder, 2 spoons of cocoa, 1 spoon of margarine, half a glass of rum or cognac, a couple of tablespoons of water
Beat egg yolks with powdered sugar, add very stiff egg whites, then, while stirring, pour a little flour mixed with baking powder, peeled and sliced almonds and other spices, orange juice and the peel of it. Knead a uniform dough on the pastry board, roll out to a thickness of approx. 2 cm, place on a greased baking sheet (if we have a piece of clean wax, let's use it to coat the sheet metal, the aroma of the cake will then be even more refined) and bake at a temperature of approx. 200°. Hot cake cut into squares or rectangles on the baking tray, but let it cool down on it. After cooling, cover with cocoa glaze (preferably with a brush) and decorate with peeled almond halves. The cake is tastiest on the third day after baking.
Preparation of the glaze: powdered sugar, cocoa, mash the melted margarine and a little hot water until quite thick. Add rum.
