Colli Bolognesi Classico Pignoletto

Colli Bolognesi Classico Pignoletto

Areas stretching from the Apennine massif to the heart of the Pianura Bolognese plain, famous for its white wine production, are divided into two separate areas. The main center of the first is Monte San Pietro, while the other continues northeast as far as the village of Cento, near Ferrara. The Pignoletto variety is concentrated in the area around Monte San Pietro, which has been present in these areas since 1654 year. This strain produces a light straw-colored wine with a greenish tinge – Colli Bolognesi Classico Pignoletto DOC.

The wine has a light feel, delicate and very pleasant taste. It is being built in the area around Monte San Pietro, known for a long time for its wine traditions.

The wines produced in this area have always been highly appreciated. Until the outbreak of World War II, it was the Monte San Pietro wines with Pignoletto at the forefront, shaped the prices in the Bologna market.
