Ryszard Winiarski, an artist, painter about the guests

An interview with Ryszard Winiarski - an artist and painter:
BB - Do you have any unexpected guests??
RW - Of course. Like everybody.
BB - How do you deal with such a situation?
RW - I quickly go to the next store, I'm buying a bottle of wine, crackers and several types of cheese. I put it all on a large board, I pour the wine into glasses. I don't know if my guests are satisfied with this solution, but I don't know any other.
BB - And if you invite guests, then what?
RW - Then my wife and I come up with something more specific, because conversations - even the most interesting ones - are not enough. An additional circumstance is also this, that more people come to us only once a year, on my wife's name day.
My crowning dish for this occasion are small sausages wrapped in thin slices of bacon and fried, wives - baked cake made of grated potatoes with various sauces.
It happens sometimes, that friends are cooking a dish in our house. Once I was given a piglet as a gift, a friend came, which baked it whole and served it with buckwheat. It was a feast, which we still remember today.
BB - Do you mainly invite people associated with painting??
RW - Not at all. I have almost no friends among painters. Most often, however, they are people associated with art - actors, TV journalists. What are we talking about? About everything, I am interested in many things and any topic can be fascinating, it just depends, how it is treated.
BB —And what do you value most at parties with others? Good kitchen, fault, mood, conversation?
RW - Friends. Conversations with them. For this a cup of black coffee and a cigarette.
