Herring in Polish
4 milk herring, 1 large onion, 5 lemon slices without peel and pips and the juice of one lemon, a glass of sweet cream, half a teaspoon of powdered sugar
Herring make (preserving the dandelions), wash thoroughly and soak in cold water through 24 at, changing it several times. Pull the skin off, cut off tails and fins and divide into fillets, from which exactly to choose the bones. Arrange the fillets in the jar, translating them with thin onion slices and lemon slices. Combine the cream with the lemon squeezed juice and dandelions rubbed through a nylon sieve, season with powdered sugar. Pour the resulting sauce over the fillets and put the tied or covered jar on the cool place 24 time. After this time, the herring is “ripe” and ready to serve.
